• Performs discipline lead engineer role on small projects or supports lead engineer on projects by performing assigned tasks.
• Interacts with project’s lead structural engineer or another senior engineer and discusses alternatives design philosophies and the pros and cons of each prior to final framing layout.
• Calculates environmental loads (dead, live, wind, seismic) according to building codes, and estimates mechanical and electrical equipment loads using similar previous project examples.
• Models, analyzes, and designs 3D structures (steel or reinforced concrete) subjected to both static and dynamic loads, using structural analysis software (SAP, RAM) supplemented my manual calculations.
• Performs the structural design calculations for foundation systems, shallow (spread, combined or mat) or deep (caissons and piles) as well as earth retaining structures.
• Analyzes foundations and support structures for equipment vibrations.
• Designs material storage structures, such as Concrete silos and bunkers, and steel bins and hoppers.
• Directs designers in the development of 3D Revit models and construction drawing preparation.
• Checks calculations prepared by other engineers to ensure accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria and conformance to good engineering practice.
• Checks structural drawings prior to final issue using vendor drawing, preexisting structural drawings, point clouds, and general arrangement drawings. Checks drawing layouts, dimensions, and details.
• Communicates with the lead structural engineer about assigned tasks of the project to keep them informed about work status, workload, and progress of the work. Reviews work with lead or another senior engineer once a week, as a minimum.
• Reviews vendor drawings to ensure submittals provide required information for structural design.
• Prepares construction specifications.
• Reviews fabrication drawings and other construction submittals for conformance to the design drawings and specifications.
• Responds to RFI queries from fabricator shop and contractor in the field.
• Assists in field work inspections and troubleshooting, as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design of steel and concrete structures for projects in cement, mining, or similar industries.
• EIT in the US.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
• Proficient in SAP2000, RAM, TEDDS or other similar structural design software.
• Working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of applicable design codes for industrial building structures – steel and concrete such as ASCE-7, IBC, AISC and ACI.

2. Do you have a EIT (Engineer in Training) Certification
3. Do you have Heavy experience in steel and concrete structures
4. Do you have experience with projects in cement, mining, or similar industries
5. Do you have Revit (must), Navisworks, structural design software, knowledge of design codes for INDUSTRIAL structures
6. Do you have the ability to travel to sites as needed
7. Must be a US Citizen or Green Card hol
