responsibilities:
- Manage and execute contracts, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statement of Work (SOW), Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), etc., and amendments to these agreements.
- Ensure compliance with Takeda's requirements and policies by managing all quotes from Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and ensuring proper terms and conditions.
- Oversee proper purchase order (PO) approval and management, invoice reconciliation, and accrual reporting related to contracts. Leads contracts and transactions functional team and provides direction for all phases of contract processing, including negotiation and execution of agreements
- Liaise with R&D business (requestor) to define the precise nature of goods and/or services required.
- Translate the demand specifications into contractable terms, working with R&D, legal and GREFP staff as appropriate.
- Test contractually defined requirements and call-off arrangements with the original requestor. Understand and execute contracts per category strategies agreed between R&D and procurement.
- Provide qualitative and quantitative input data to External Business Management function regarding the internal service (GREFP) and external supplier service delivery.
- Ensure that all R&D business requirements are clearly defined and documented prior to the creation of contracts.
- Maintain a register of historic demand specifications by contract.
- Act as a bridge between R&D business, legal and GREFP regarding the nature of supplier services provided.
- Support R&D with the contract management and reporting of activities such as MSAs, SOWs, POs, and consulting engagements
- Registers and updates third-party suppliers through Ariba and MDG systems
- Works with Legal, Compliance, Procurement, TBS etc. to ensure appropriate agreements are drafted, negotiated and executed
- Ensure compliance with Takeda's requirements and policies by managing all quotes from Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and ensuring proper terms and conditions and providing guidance to stakeholders about policies and regulations, including but not limited to Procurement Policy, TPRM policy, contract policy, Signature authority Policy, quality requirement (as relevant), Sunshine act (as relevant), SOX requirements
- Oversee proper purchase order (PO) approval and management, invoice reconciliation, and accrual reporting related to contracts
- Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise (Breadth and depth of knowledge, application and complexity of technical knowledge)
- Strong understanding of drug discovery and/or development activities in context of line functions and project teams.
- Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to act independently through complex cross-functional matrices.
- Proactive, resourceful, self-motivated and possesses good interpersonal skills to interact professionally with all levels in the organization.
- Excellent general problem solving skills and a proven ability to manage multiple projects and to simplify and organize complex tasks.
- Accurate and precise communication skills are necessary with experience of international partner-ships with multiple international contributors to individual projects.
- Excellent knowledge of procurement systems (Ariba, MDG, InvoiceTrack), legal system (Axxe-rion, templates databases), PowerBI suite, DAS, Smartsheets.
- Excellent understanding of contracting requirements in line with Takeda policies

qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in science, business administration, Contract Law, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in contract management, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry or a similar complex regulatory environment.
- In-depth knowledge of contract law principles and best practices in contract negotiation and drafting.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles as applied to procurement contracts.
- Proven track record of independently accomplishing tasks from initiation through close out, including proactive follow-up with stakeholders to ensure completion
- Knowledge and comfortable with information technology applications including but not limited to Ariba, ServiceNow and Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and SharePoint
- Understanding of Healthcare Compliance, including U.S. Federal Sunshine Act, and general contracting processes and systems
- Ability to effectively manage projects and contracts in a global matrix/team environment
- Exceptional organization and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
