Job Summary

We seek a motivated, entrepreneurial, and experienced Project Manager to lead the positioning, development, closing, and delivery of water professional engineering services to key clients throughout the Chicago and Illinois markets, from Greeley and Hansen's Chicago based global headquarters.

The Project Manager will be eager and open to continuous growth, engaging and mentoring teams, implementing best engineering and business practices as Greeley and Hansen continues to expand its growing, global practice.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Mentoring staff, providing career guidance, positioning team for success, and supporting staff development while adhering to Greeley and Hansen's core values.
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships with new and existing clients to understand their needs and to ensure that their expectations are exceeded.
  • Managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously to mentor teams to deliver assignments to the client's satisfaction while following the contract requirements and maintaining schedule and budget.
  • Client service excellence in engaging, listening, and understanding client needs, to translate these needs into solutions.
  • Identifying and spearhead business development pursuits, developing positioning plans, coordinating and implementing the positioning plans with the team, and preparation of proposals including project goals, client needs, and technical approaches.
  • Managing staff assignments and workload to position staff to achieve their career goals and deliver on project deliverables.
  • Technical excellence in planning studies, preliminary designs, final designs, asset management, program management, bid assistance and office services during construction for treatment plants, pump stations, distribution and collection systems, and associated improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. A Master's degree is desirable.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of work experience in civil/environmental engineering, including business development, client and project management, studies and process evaluations, contract document development, and project delivery.
  • Technical Experience: Water treatment process, pumping, and distribution design; spearhead service line replacement; including facilities up to 100 MGD. Wastewater treatment process, pumping, and collection system design; stormwater management, pumping, and conveyance design; including facilities up to 100 MGD.
  • Client Service Experience: Minimum 2 years leading client relationships. Client service including planning, positioning, relationship development, proposal development, contract closing and negotiations, and project delivery.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) licensure is required. Illinois PE license will be required within 12 months.

  • Proven experience in guiding business development opportunities that have resulted in selection of work.
  • Understanding of the intersection among strategy, relationship management, and business development to drive growth.
  • Experience devising strategic plans that results to new business opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate, present, speak, and write for a variety of stakeholders and build relationships that result in successes.
  • Preferred to have knowledge of Client Service, Strategic Management, and Business Planning as a strength they can use to grow the Firm's business.
  • Ability to develop, mentor, and manage client relationships and demonstrated ability to organize, guide and execute large projects on budget and schedule.
  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery including the management of client expectations, technical team, schedule, and financial aspects of projects.
  • Strong technical and entrepreneurial spirit as well as a desire to expand existing client relationships and to establish working relationships with new clients.
  • Demonstrable commitment for exceeding client expectations by presenting and implementing tailored solutions to meet their specific needs.
  • Being timely in your work and able to mentor other team members in maintaining and advancing schedules.
  • Ability to organize and productively leverage staff and firm resources to accomplish business development outcomes.
