We are offering a part time 25 hours a week contract to hire employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper to join our team in Hackensack, New Jersey. This role involves maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and providing financial support functions.

The Bookkeeper will be an integral part of our team, ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of bookkeeping including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records
  • Efficiently process customer credit applications and maintain accurate records
  • Utilize QuickBooks for financial data entry and report generation
  • Handle month-end close procedures and generate financial statements
  • Provide payroll support to ensure employees are compensated accurately and on time
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze financial data
  • Conduct account reconciliations to prevent and resolve any discrepancies
  • Assist in preparing 1099s as part of year-end tax responsibilities
  • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping role or similar
  • Proficiency in account reconciliation, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR)
  • Experience in bank reconciliations and bookkeeping
  • Proficiency in data entry and use of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in month end close processes and payroll management
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks, QuickBooks Enterprise, Quickbooks Online, and Quickbooks Premier
  • Experience with QuickBooks Pro and Quickbooks ProAdvisor
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
