The Event Marketing Coordinator is a full-time, exempt position on NFCYM's national staff, reporting to the Director of Meetings and Events. This role develops and executes event-focused marketing strategies, leads targeted outreach efforts, coordinates volunteers and contractors supporting marketing initiatives, and provides exceptional customer service to event registrants.

Collaborating closely with the communications department, which oversees the design of marketing materials, the coordinator ensures all event marketing efforts authentically reflect and advance NFCYM's mission, vision, and values.

RESPONSIBILITIES
General
  • Perform as a lay ecclesial minister of NFCYM in support of the spiritual and pastoral mission of NFCYM.
  • Act in accordance with Catholic morals and principles in one's professional and public life.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement long-term and day-to-day marketing strategies to promote NFCYM events, ensuring clear and consistent messaging that reflects the organization's objectives.
  • Draft compelling marketing copy for email campaigns, websites, social media posts, and promotional materials, partnering with the communications department for cohesive design integration.
  • Coordinate volunteers, interns, and contractors who assist with marketing tasks, ensuring that deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for event participants, providing exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, offering registration assistance, and guiding group leaders through the registration and event participation process.
  • Identify key target audiences and proactively engage them through strategic outreach-including collaboration with dioceses, parishes, and other networks-to expand event participation and attendance.
  • Manage event-specific digital platforms (e.g., websites, registration portals, social channels) to proactively share timely information, highlight key features, and enhance user engagement.
  • Track and analyze marketing performance metrics, reporting insights and recommendations to department leadership, and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Contribute to planning and implementing integrated marketing campaigns, setting measurable goals, and adapting strategies based on data-driven insights.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a working knowledge of and a commitment to the mission of NFCYM and the Catholic Church
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and public presentation skills
  • Ability to initiate, prioritize, maintain, and complete both short-term and long-term projects simultaneously with a high degree of attention to detail within established budget parameters
  • Cultural competence in diverse Catholic settings
  • Proficiency with information technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, basic familiarity with Adobe products, and digital marketing tools.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
  • Must have excellent human relations and interpersonal skills, be well-organized, a team builder, and lead by example
  • Ability to work unsupervised, make decisions independently, and provide creative and effective solutions in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including weekends, depending on organizational commitments
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality
  • Successful completion of criminal history and background check
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • English fluency required; bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred
EXPERIENCE
  • Three years of experience implementing marketing and outreach strategies for events or similar initiatives, including drafting content and working as a member or volunteer on a marketing team
  • Experience working within Catholic networks (national, regional, diocesan) and familiarity with large-scale Catholic events preferred
EDUCATION
  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, English, journalism, creative or technical writing, information management, or related field from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience
