Tax Preparer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Tax Preparer for a two-month project located in Reading, PA. This position will begin as part-time and transition as the project progresses. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax preparation processes, attention to detail, and excellent time management skills to ensure compliance with tax regulations and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and file individual 1040s tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Review financial records, such as income statements and documentation of expenditures, to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.
• Conduct thorough interviews with clients to collect necessary tax information.
• Ensure timely and error-free submission of tax forms and documentation.
• Address client questions or concerns related to tax returns, clarifying any regulatory changes or updates relevant to their situation.
• Stay updated on relevant tax laws and regulations, particularly those impacting 1040s, 990s, and 1065s, to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with team members to manage workload and deadlines as the project scales to full-time hours.

Qualification Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Tax Preparer or in a related accounting role, including direct experience with 1040, 990, and 1065 tax return preparation.
• Strong knowledge of current federal and state tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and numerical skills.
• Clear and professional communication skills for client interactions.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing accurate work.
• Ability to manage part-time hours initially and transition into greater workloads as project progresses.
