OCS Internship

This is a paid, full-time internship of 30 hours a week that would run for 9 weeks beginning the first week of June. This position will be based onsite in Arlington, VA with one day a week at a school site.

The Intern's primary function is to assist the Office of Catholic Schools (OCS) with projects that support the needs of schools in the diocese. Throughout the course of the internship, the Office of Catholic Schools Intern will support several members of the OCS team in planning and assisting with projects.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and audits of school websites
  • Update social media accounts
  • Provide support for various marketing projects
  • Retrieve and analyze school data
  • Help coordinate new teacher orientation
  • Help coordinate summer professional development activities for teachers
  • Assist with meeting set up and logistics
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assistant Superintendent/Diocesan Health & Wellness Coordinator-led research projects

This position is overseen by the Superintendent of Catholic Schools. Interaction with members of the Office of Catholic Schools team and other Chancery staff will occur daily. The internship will include opportunities to visit schools and meet school personnel

Qualifications:

  • A rising college sophomore or above that has completed one year of undergraduate study in education, school counseling or a related field - ideally, the candidate aspires to be a K-12 educator in a Catholic school.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be an effective written and oral communicator.
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess a proven ability to work independently with clear instructions provided within a team environment.
  • Must have desire to promote the mission and the faith of the Catholic Church.
  • Familiarity with the Catholic Diocese of Arlington preferred.
