Accountant - Entry Level

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Entry Level Accountant in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The role is within the construction industry, where you will be responsible for managing accounts payable operations and maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Efficient and accurate processing of invoices and payments on a regular basis.
• Maintain and update vendor files in the system with accurate information.
• Facilitate swift and precise data entry of financial documents into accounting software like QuickBooks.
• Utilize project management tools like monday.com to coordinate tasks, manage work, and maintain detailed records.
• Handle vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements to ensure accurate records are maintained.
• Collaborate with finance department staff to manage audits, reports, and other finance-related tasks.
• Assist in monthly closing procedures and generate financial reports as needed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information.
• Adhere to all accounting procedures and company policies.
• Review and decode invoices for account coding and account analysis. • Proficiency in accounting software systems such as QuickBooks and monday.com
• Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions
• Ability to perform account analysis and reconciliation
• Experience in managing accounts payable (AP)
• Knowledge of accounting entries and functions
• Skill in account coding
• Ability to work with diverse teams and manage multiple tasks
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Willingness to stay updated with latest accounting rules and regulations.
