Sr Manufacturing Engineer | Metal Fabrication

My client is a stable, family-owned manufacturer located near O'Hare. They have impressive and varying capabilities in metal stamping and metal fabrication for customers in a variety of industries. • Serve as point person for new Engineering projects
• Review part requests/Engineering drawings, and Engineer the part from there
• Select machinery & develop manufacturing process for optimal production
• Design custom tooling/fixtures to support production for the sheet metal fabrication process
• Delegate project tasks/responsibilities to other team members
• Drive continuous improvement to existing operations, with focus on scrap reduction & overall cost savings
• Assist in generating programs for automated metal fabrication machinery

• 5+ years experience in a metal fabrication environment
• Ability to take an engineering drawing and convert into final product with little to no guidance
• Previous exposure to working closely on projects, including interfacing with customers and estimating project costs
• Experience programming machinery
• press brakes, lasers, turrets, wire benders etc.
• strongly preferred
• Experience leading process improvement initiatives

• Base salary $85,000 - $110,000 depending on level of experience
• Discretionary bonus based on company performance
