Unit Secretary Full Time
What You'll Do:
As a Unit Secretary, you will maintain an organized environment on the nursing unit. Your role is instrumental to ensuring the delivery of quality care, fostering a positive work environment, ensuring the health, comfort, and overall well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting and assisting visitors, residents, and staff in person and over the phone
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date resident records and charts
- Scheduling appointments and arranging meetings Assisting with data entry, filing, and maintaining inventory of office supplies
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to facilitate smooth operations
- Provide administrative support to the nursing staff

What You'll Bring:
Qualifications of a Unit Secretary:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Additional certification or coursework in office administration is a plus
- May require experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and in specific functional areas in a long-term care setting
- Compassionate and empathetic nature Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in office software and basic computer skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare setting
- Exceptional attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a team environment
