Overview:

Life Safety Monitor / Fire Command Center Dispatcher: Responsibility for the operation and monitoring of life safety systems and its peripheral devices, including but not limited to, fire alarm systems , panic alarm devices, hold up alarms, closed circuit television systems to protect life, property, and company assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor computer-based fire alarm, panic alarm, and hold up alarm systems.
  • Monitor closed-circuit television systems looking for suspicious activity, investigating incidents, and camera reviews.
  • Maintain control and issuance of company restricted keys and equipment.
  • Monitor two-way radio transmissions and dispatch appropriate personnel to alarm activations, medical emergencies, criminal activity, escorts, and other activity requiring the need for assistance.
  • Maintain favorable telephone communication with all departments, outside medical and law enforcement agencies, and guests to ensure proper service is rendered.
  • Monitor mantrap and Armored Car entry / exit points for proper personnel access.
  • Assists guests and employees with security related questions, Lost and Found inquiries, and have knowledge of property related events.
  • Maintain a daily computerized activity log of incidents and preparation of reports of incidents.
  • Work in conjunction with the Fire Marshall regarding fire inspection rounds to check stairwells, storage areas, hallways, and fire equipment reporting deficiencies to upper management.
  • Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year Security experience preferably working in a dispatch capacity and have knowledge Fire Alarm / CCTV Systems.
  • Have excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, read, and write English.
  • Basic knowledge of computer-based software (i.e., Windows, Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, Adobe, etc.)
  • Must be able to tolerate varying levels of noise, temperature, and at times work in a casino smoking environment.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for entire shift and able to move throughout the property.
  • Further physical requirements include, but are not limited to, kneeling/crouching, bending, lifting, grasping/handling and reaching.
  • Be able to organize and multitask assignments while servicing employees and guests.
