DESCRIPTION**

We are looking for a talented Quality Technician – Romer (2 nd Shift) to join our team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Inc. facility in Mineral Point, WI.

**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:**

+ **Ensure Product Quality** : By verifying the final quality of products, you will ensure that only those meeting technical specifications reach customers.

+ **Identify Defects** : Your keen eye for detail will help identify defects in components, materials, and products, maintaining high standards.

+ **Use of Measurement Techniques** : Utilizing both basic and complex measurement techniques, you will accurately assess product characteristics.

+ **Segregate Non-Conforming Products** : By separating products that do not meet specifications, you’ll prevent defective items from progressing further in the production line.

+ **Document Non-Conforming Products** : Your thorough documentation of non-conforming products will provide valuable data for continuous improvement.

+ **Train Team Members** : By training others in measurement equipment use and documentation, you will enhance the overall skill level of the team.

+ **Adhere to Quality Standards** : Following the company’s quality norms and standards, you’ll contribute to maintaining a consistent and reliable production process.

+ **Support Continuous Improvement** : Your role in identifying and documenting defects will support ongoing efforts to improve product quality and production efficiency.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

+ **Resourcefulness** : Effectively securing and deploying resources will help you manage production and quality control processes efficiently, ensuring that all necessary tools and materials are available when needed.

+ **Measurement Science Expertise** : Analyzing measurement processes to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty. This involves applying metrology across various domains (e.g., Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Radiation, and Physical) to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.

+ **Quality Process Management** : Proficiently applying quality tools and methods (e.g., APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, Capability studies, Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure the quality of products, processes, and services. This helps maintain high standards and continuous improvement.

+ **Laboratory Management Skills** : Leading technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory. This includes using measures to control both technical and business aspects and ensuring compliance with relevant certifications and accreditations.

**Education/Experience**

+ High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

+ This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

+ Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.

+ Component and assembled part layout following prints Finished goods audit.

+ Line Romer for quality concerns.

+ Support Calibration system (inspection, test equipment, functional gages)

+ Assist with the development of JQA’s (Job Quality Analysis Sheets)

+ Document & record data collected on inspection forms legibly.

+ Keep work area safe and clean (5S – Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)

+ Promote quality workmanship that meets and/or exceeds customer expectations.

+ Perform other duties as directed by the Team Leader
