SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - Well-Known Manufacturing Company in Norcross, GA

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to assist in the preparation of the monthly closing process. This role includes monthly operational reporting, inventory closings, and all aspects of variance and financial analysis. You will work closely with various management personnel to coordinate the annual budgeting process and manage various financial scenarios and projects.

• Manage general ledger accounting and manufacturing cost accounting (WIP, BOMs) using Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.
• Prepare and record journal entries and accrual transactions for month-end close in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee the monthly closing of the fixed asset subledger and related functions.
• Conduct general ledger account analysis and prepare schedules requested by external auditors for the annual audit.
• Coordinate and value physical inventory cycle counts.
• Ensure timely bank reconciliations at month-end.
• Handle invoicing and reconciliation of inter-company transactions.
• Post weekly payroll and prepare month-end payroll accruals.
• Prepare and analyze month-end financials (primarily P& L and balance sheet).
• Review the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts at month-end.
• Optimize workflow processes to enhance value creation.
• Perform ad hoc financial duties and participate in special projects to meet departmental goals and deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Masters or post-graduate degree preferred
• CPA or CPA track preferred
• 5+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, including vlookups, pivot tables, and macros.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive business information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
• Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines with integrity.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proven track record of initiative, teamwork, and problem-solving.
