Cost Accountant - Robert Half

Experience with Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) is strongly preferred. This role will involve collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate cost accounting and support month-end responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain standard costing methodologies for products, ensuring alignment with manufacturing processes.
• Perform detailed variance analysis, identifying trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with operations and production teams to gather data for accurate costing and budgeting.
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of COGS reports to provide insights into production efficiency and cost control.
• Support month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Review and analyze inventory levels, ensuring proper valuation and reporting in compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and present reports and findings to management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for cost optimization.
• Assist in the development and implementation of cost control measures and best practices.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cost accounting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of standard cost and variance analysis, with a focus on COGS.
• Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with [insert specific software if applicable] is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Understanding and experience in Accounting Functions
• Knowledge of Auditing practices
• Experience in Budget Processes
