Research Associate Scientist, In Vivo Pharmacology

SUMMARY/SCOPE:

858 Therapeutics, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in San Diego and focused on the discovery of novel medicines for the treatment of cancer. We seek a motivated and talented In Vivo Pharmacologist for a Research Associate Scientist position to support our in vivo pharmacology research.

RESPONSIBILITIES: will include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Broad knowledge of small animal anatomy and physiology.
2. Experience with setting up subcutaneous xenograft models.
3. Basic lab animal handling skills, Dosing (i.e., PO, SC, IP and IV), Sample collection (i.e., blood and tissue), basic necropsy and general lab sanitation.
4. Experience with monitoring tumor growth and animals' health, including weight.
5. Maintains accurate record-keeping in laboratory notebooks and appropriate databases in a timely manner.
6. Experience with basic in vitro techniques such as cell culture, RNA preparation from tissues, qPCR, Western blotting and flow cytometry is a plus.

PREREQUISITES: BS/MS with relevant work experience in the field of in vivo pharmacology. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

SALARY RANGE: $75-85k DOE

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and experience in drug discovery with a proven track record of scientific accomplishment, as well as a demonstrated ability to work collegially in a team environment.
