Description:

The Calibration Supervisor oversees the team and process for producing Certified Reference Materials used as Calibration and Reference Standards in Lighthouse Instruments Headspace Gas Analyzer product lines. Additionally, the Calibration Supervisor participates in the production process and conducts quality analysis of Certified Reference Materials.

Further responsibilities include supporting lab staff in the recertification process of customer Calibration and Reference Standards.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to the Director of Manufacturing
  • Interacts with Manufacturing, Analytical Services, Tech Services and Sales
  • Internal: Company management and employees
  • External: Material Suppliers & other vendors

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule and supervise all Certified Reference Material production aspects to meet defined lead times or department needs.
  • Lead team responsible for creating Certified Reference Materials (i.e., Calibration and Reference Standards).
  • Participate in producing Certified Reference Materials using sourced glassware.
  • Analyze any Certified Reference Materials produced to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Generate and/or review standards reports establishing NIST traceability.
  • Review orders for Certified Reference Materials to ensure obligations are met.
  • Develop Glass Blowing and Torch Work skillset.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Department to further develop the current Quality System towards ISO Standards.
  • Edit / Draft Standard Operating Procedures / Work Instructions as needed.
  • Provide support to Analytical Services for the recertification of customer calibration and reference standards.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Support other functional departments as assigned by management.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated supervisory and team-building experience.
  • High Mechanical and Scientific Aptitude.
  • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly conceptualize and troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Proficiency in Google G-Suite, MS Office Products, and/or Libre Office.
  • Ability to transport, hook up, and disconnect pressurized cylinders.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ Years of Related Experience.
  • BS Physical Science or Equivalent Years of Applicable Experience.
  • Working Knowledge of Vacuum Pumps and Systems.
  • Calibration, Instrumentation, and/or Metrology experience.
  • QA / QC experience.
