MAJOR FUNCTION:
The Maintenance Team Lead will be primarily responsible for leading and coordinating production tooling setup, troubleshooting equipment failures, performing electrical and mechanical repairs, and ongoing equipment preventative maintenance. Additional responsibilities include basic fabrication and facility maintenance as needed.The Maintenance Team Lead reports to and works with the Maintenance Supervisor to plan daily tasks and improve overall effectiveness of maintenance department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reduce equipment downtime by accurately diagnosing causes of equipment failure.
- Perform safe and timely repairs by utilizing maintenance best practices.
- Perform and document equipment preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, including but not limited to: compressed air systems, hydraulic repairs, electrical wiring, AC motors, belts and gears, sensors, and switches.
- Coordinate setup/changeover with Production team leads to support the manufacturing schedule.
- Set up machines (RF welding presses) using knowledge of machine parameters and how they impact product.
- Light to moderate fabrication of machine parts/tooling as needed.
- Assist with general facilities maintenance as needed.
- Record all PM activities, repairs, and setups in maintenance software system.
- Assist engineering and quality teams as needed with trial setups and qualifications.
- Work together with teammates to effectively troubleshoot and solve problems. Train less experienced team members in maintenance techniques.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Vocational training, Associate’s degree or finished Apprenticeship preferred, but not required.
- At least 5 years prior experience in a maintenance role or combination of maintenance and fabrication.
- Able to troubleshoot/work with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Able to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Familiar with fabrication techniques and equipment such as MIG/TIG welders, manual lathe/mill operation.
- Able to use a multi-meter effectively to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical failures.
- Experience with RF sealing equipment is strongly preferred. Willingness to learn new technology.
- Leadership experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with shop math and basic computer skills are required.
