Public Staff Tax Accountant - Benicia

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Public Staff Tax Accountant in Benicia, California. The role is centered around the finance industry, particularly in the area of tax and accounting. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling corporate and high net worth tax returns, conducting month-end and year-end accounting work, and assisting in setting up clients' monthly reconciliations.

• Handle the processing and filing of corporate and high net worth tax returns.
• Conduct month-end and year-end accounting work and postings for small businesses.
• Utilize skills in accounting functions, auditing, and compliance to maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist in the setup of clients' monthly reconciliations, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
• Handle the processing of financial statements and ensure the timely completion of all accounting tasks.
• Use software tools such as CCH IntelliConnect, CCH Prosystem, and CCH ProSystem Fx effectively to carry out job responsibilities.
• Participate in the preparation and filing of various tax schedules such as Rentals Schedules C, Stock, and Real Estate.
• Ensure compliance with entity formation regulations and corporate income tax requirements.
• Handle individual tax return processes ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting functions and utilize this knowledge to improve operational efficiency. • Must possess proficiency in CCH IntelliConnect, CCH Prosystem, and CCH ProSystem Fx
• Able to handle various accounting functions including auditing and compliance tasks
• Knowledge and experience in Entity Formation and Financial Statement preparation
• Must have experience in Corporate Income Tax and Individual Tax Return preparation
• Must demonstrate high level of integrity and professionalism
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in a similar role is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
• Certification such as CPA is desirable
• Must be a good team player and able to work under pressure
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must have legal authorization to work in the country of employment.
