Shipping Clerk - Pagedale
What you'll do as a Shipping Clerk:
Will assist the supervisor in outlining daily shipping schedule and contacting of various truck lines for pickup of freightAssists in loading outbound LTL shipments either through drayage or direct outbound truck lines by directing the fork truck to bring correct material and by labeling and correctly counting all freight and providing written or electronic documentation necessary for meeting company and/or D.O.T. requirements.
Ships, receives, counts and verifies all raw materials, inventory and non-inventory items. Stickering and/or labeling, as required using appropriate shipping documentation devices.Assists in making sure inbound and outbound warehouse shipments by truck and rail are correctly counted and loaded.
Files records and maintains inventory records through PRISM computer system.
Ensures that the shipping papers are correctly processed in the Shipping Department and prepares other written/electronic records as required by management (i.e. cGMP and ISO procedures).
Assist supervisor in preparing inventory records.
Is responsible for keeping shipping area, equipment, and surrounding work area clean at all times.
Directing truck drivers, as needed, and for inspecting the hazardous waste storage area.
Operate forklift, computer, order picker, and primemover.
Receive raw materials, count and verify, apply inventory stickers.
Receive non inventory items, count and verify.
Receive inventory items (vendor direct), count and verify, apply inventory stickers.
Receive inventory items through misc. transfers, count and verify.
Ship inventory items through misc. transfer, count and verify.
Ship inventory and non-inventory items through A-release systems, count and verify.
Ship goods through Stock Tag system, count and verify. Maintain inventory transactions through PRISM computer system.
Cycle counts of raw materials.
Load and unload trailers.
Weigh raw materials for receiving.
Contact appropriate personnel concerning deliveries.
Performs necessary quality and inventory control data gathering and input in either written or electronic formats.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed:
Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Basic math, reading, writing and data entry skills.Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, safety warning labels, and machine instruction manuals.
Ability to read and understand and organize a wide variety of forms.
Preferred: 1+ years of work experience in related experience preferably in a warehouse/distribution setting.
1+ years of experience working with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.)Experience working in PRISM or similar software.
Previous experience driving forklift, primemover and other similar equipment.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, and to organize and maintain organization.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Other: May be expected to move, carry, and lift approximately 60 pounds.
May be expected to climb heights of approximately 10 feet.Stand, sit and walk for long periods of time.
Must wear personal protection, as required.
Good hand/eye coordination.
Exercise extreme caution in order to not damage other material or property while operating moving equipment and must at all times exercise extreme caution for the safety of other employees.
