Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Employee to join our team at Tiny Town Animal Clinic. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily care and well-being of animals staying in our kennel. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Animal Care: Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and bathing
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kennel area, including cleaning cages, bedding, and common areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Monitoring Health: Observe and report any changes in the animals' behavior or health to the veterinary staff.
  • Exercise and Socialization: Ensure that animals receive appropriate exercise and socialization, including walking dogs and interacting with them to promote their well-being.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with pet owners and provide updates on their pets' condition and care.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of animals' food intake, medications, and any special needs or concerns.
  • Assistance with Procedures: Assist veterinary staff with basic procedures, handling, and restraint of animals when needed.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to any emergencies or accidents involving animals and follow established protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a kennel or veterinary setting, is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and pet owners.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move animals and equipment, as well as perform physical tasks such as cleaning and walking animals.
  • Compassion: A genuine love for animals and a compassionate approach to their care.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or certification in animal care is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • The position involves working in a kennel setting, which may include exposure to various animals, cleaning agents, and occasional noise.
