Staff Accountant

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in East Hartford, Connecticut. This role is based in the Accounting industry and provides integral support to our team by managing customer accounts, processing invoices, and assisting with month-end and year-end activities.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily checks of data for errors, shipments, and invoices.
• Assist in the distribution of daily customer invoices and shipment reports.
• Manage the processing of invoice-only and credit memo documents.
• Ensure the accurate and timely application of customer cash.
• Investigate any discrepancies in customer payments.
• Review and analyze travel expenses for proper account coding.
• Administer the Vendor Address Book.
• Maintain all relevant Accounts Receivable files.
• Support the team in month end/year end close activities, including creating Journal Entries and Account Reconciliations.
• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
• Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger management
• Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in using NetSuite for accounting purposes
• Experience with Oracle accounting software
• Knowledge and experience using QuickBooks for accounting tasks
• Familiarity with SAP for financial and accounting functions
