Duties, Responsibilities & Other:

  • 9+ years of experience with rail and transit systems engineering.
  • Experience with North American passenger, freight, and transit rail systems, standards, operations, and maintenance.
  • Experience with technology applications to accomplish technical analysis, engineering design reviews, and program management tasks typical for the rail and transit industry.
  • Experience in developing and managing state DOT and public transit agency projects preferred.
  • Project Management experience required, with experience in managing and growing a technical team preferred.
  • Experience leading a team of technical staff in developing solutions for railroad clients, utilizing industry standards and best practices, and coordination/oversight of multiple disciplines.
  • Proposal preparation including scope, schedule and fee. Contract management and billing.
  • Prepare written technical proposals, assemble teams to meet client criteria, and develop professional relationships.
  • Responsible for development of both high-level and detailed technical information and presentation materials to support client initiatives, program and project reporting requirements, project management oversight, and other support activities as directed by the client.
  • Occasional travel as needed to client offices and project sites, including knowledge of jobsite safety certification processes and practices.
  • Professional Engineering License for designated state preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 9 - 14 years of professional experience.
  • Appropriate professional certification preferred.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
