POSITION TITLE: Operations Manager - Coatings and Painting

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Coatings Manager (Industrial Coating & Painting) to manage multiple projects

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the branch P&L.

Estimate, plan, schedule and coordinate projects
Utilize estimating software
Manage all phases of multiple assigned projects from initiation to closure
Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completion
Responsible for estimating and seeing projects through until completion
Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and team members to meet project specifications and deadlines
Read and review architectural plans for project details and specifics
Analyze proposals and requirements to prepare cost estimates for potential projects
Utilize estimation, database, Microsoft, and other software
Work with an existing team (Superintendents, Foremen, Warehouse, etc.) to prepare for the project start
Develop and manage new and existing accounts, assume existing business, and build new relationships with targeted accounts
Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to meet deadlines
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards
Prepare and present project reports, proposals and budgets
Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction
Has overall responsibility for projects completed by the branch through oversight of all its personnel
Motivates and builds trust within the team through open and consistent communications, constructive feedback, sound decision making, demonstrating technical aptitude, timely follow-up and leading by example
Reviews reporting for anomalies or errors and drives correction
Demonstrates commitment to safety and health excellence through strong personal engagement. Recognizing and stopping unsafe behavior, recognizing and eliminating safety hazards, following safe practices and procedures and striving for continuous improvement of safety and reliability in the refinery
Cultivates employee development and professionalism in the department

Adaptability to difficult situations at the spur of the moment

Communicates, presents, and interacts effectively with other functional teams, management, corporate network resources, contract and vendor resources and hourly workforce.
Ensures daily work schedules are effective, achievable, provide full crew utilization and are understood by both supervisors and craft workers
Directs and sets expectations for project managers, supervisors and operators/technicians
Promoting open communications throughout the department and with other workgroups
Working knowledge of all aspects field auditing including personnel, equipment, JSA, project service tickets
Obtain purchase orders and monitor spending on project supplies including coatings and paint
Some mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills of commonly used equipment
Good understanding of water volumes, pressures and flows of High Volume/PSI pumping equipment
Partner with customers to understand ongoing business needs and objectives
Perform other duties as assigned

Can handle tense situations with customers

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred

5 years of experience in a coatings management role within the industrial coatings industry
Must have a valid TWIC card or be capable of obtaining one
Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices
Ability to read and understand required documents, blueprints, and project plans
Proficient in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Proficient with MS Office Suite, MS Project, or similar project management software.
Must be familiar with Estimating software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
