Length of assignment: 13 weeks

Job Summary:

Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assess patients and administer a Care Plan that aligns with physician, patient, and family goals.
2. Deliver high-quality, safe patient care.
3. Complete all necessary documentation related to patient treatment.
4. Support patients in achieving the highest degree of independence possible.
5. Maintain a cost-effective treatment plan.
6. Assist in the orientation of new employees and volunteers.
7. Supervise and evaluate the performance of therapy students and assistants during clinical rotations.
8. Regularly assume the duties of a Charge Therapist.
9. Provide courteous service to all employees, patients, and associates.
10. Adhere to established hospital safety standards.
11. Ensure departmental objectives are met.
12. Administer Care Plans, especially for children, in areas including fine motor skills, self-help skills, and development.
13. Coordinate with a Case Manager for referrals to appropriate therapy units post-discharge.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Inpatient Hospital Experience
• Knowledge of occupational therapy practices for various age groups
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Specifications:

• Education: Must hold a valid California Occupational Therapy License.
• Licensure: California Occupational Therapy License and current BLS-AHA certification required.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in the profession.

Preferred Qualifications: Inpatient hospital experience is strongly preferred.
