Registered Nurse - Med/Surg - RNMS24-14079

Shift Time: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Position Overview:

• As a Med Surg Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to a diverse group of patients with medical and surgical needs. This role is critical in ensuring the effective coordination of care for individuals with various conditions, including post-surgical recovery, chronic illnesses, and acute medical issues.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care to patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, performing wound care, and assisting with mobility and daily activities.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, continuously monitor patient status, and update care plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized patient care plans. Coordinate treatments and interventions while adhering to established protocols.
• Safely administer medications and IV therapies following standard procedures, ensuring accuracy in dosage and patient response monitoring.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, discharge plans, and post-hospital care.
• Maintain accurate, detailed patient records, including treatment progress, nursing interventions, and any changes in condition.
• Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. Facilitate communication between the healthcare team and patients' families.
• Act quickly and effectively in response to emergencies, utilizing advanced skills such as ACLS and BLS to stabilize patients.
• Follow all hospital policies, protocols, and nursing standards, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and patient safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).

Licensure/Certifications:

• Active RN license in Michigan.
• BLS (Basic Life Support).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience is preferred.

Skills:

• Strong assessment, clinical, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently and manage a full patient load while collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move patients, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks related to patient care.
