Annual Salary $110K - $115K. Exempt position; full-time, 40+ hours, on-call rotation for set number of weekends, holidays, and emergency situations. Reports directly to the Executive Director.
Position Summary
Responsible for management and quality of care of agency nursing services, functions and activities to serve individuals with developmental disabilities and complex medical issues. Develops and ensures compliance with nursing practices that promote optimum health care delivery.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and oversight of nursing and therapeutic services for agency individuals.
- Responds to nursing-related issues in a prompt and appropriate manner.
- Provides clinical case management with the physicians, emergency room, and medical professionals to ensure appropriate treatment plans are implemented.
- Plan and oversee admission, nursing and patient care processes for agency individuals.
- Visits programs as needed to assess quality of resident care and staff compliance.
- Oversee staff education and monitoring to ensure nursing personnel and direct support professionals possess the skill set and competency required to care for the individuals.
- Responsible for updating policies and establishing new policies to improve the quality and standard of care for agency individuals.
- Develop short and long-term goals for the nursing department.
- Responsible for writing individuals nursing plans in a timely manner and obtaining appropriate physician signatures.
- Works with billing to initiate services for Skilled and Private Duty Nursing services for individuals that qualify for CMS-485 Home Health Nursing Services.
- Completes billing for nursing services in a timely manner.
- Directs and monitors to determine adequate documentation is completed.
- Investigates complaints, grievances and allegations of abuse or neglect concerning nursing services and/or nursing staff.
- Interviews nursing applicants, counsels, disciplines, supervises all nursing/therapy staff to include conducting annual performance evaluations.
- Plans and cooperates with Administration on operations, budgets & special projects as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
All members of the Nursing/Therapy Department report to this position.
Education and/or Experience- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Current RN license, must be in good standing with the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be comfortable supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of the principles, standards, and methods of professional nursing and the practices of skilled care.
- Possession of current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers CPR certificate is required.
- Must have a valid Virginia Driver's License and meet agency insurance driving record requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
