Job Posting: Maintenance Technician
Location: Columbia, SC
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Lunch: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM)

Pay Rate: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour (Flexible for highly qualified candidates)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the proper upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment and facility infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing the efficiency of manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems ranging from 24VDC control circuits to 480VAC 3-phase industrial systems.
  • Work closely with supervisors and managers to address equipment breakdowns and implement necessary upgrades.
  • Prioritize and schedule equipment repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Assist with installation, relocation, and reconstruction of new and existing equipment.
  • Maintain facility infrastructure, including plumbing, electrical systems, and basic carpentry tasks.
  • Address safety concerns, such as replacing burnt-out lights, maintaining emergency lighting, and ensuring compliance with lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and confined space programs.
  • Perform grounds maintenance, including light snow and ice removal when necessary.
  • Maintain inventory of repair parts and shop supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and repairs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with coursework in skilled trades or vocational training.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use mechanical tools, electrical test equipment, and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting industrial equipment.
  • Must have own mechanic’s tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. (with assistance for weights over 50 lbs.).

Pay Details: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour
