Job Description
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for:
- Managing all documentation to ensure the project is compliant, remains on schedule, and remains within budget while monitoring all costs.
- Obtaining, assembling, distributing, and filling all as-built drawings, warranties, certificates of occupancy, and lien releases.
- Scheduling projects in logical steps and budgeting time required to meet deadlines.
- Building and maintaining relationships critical to the success of the overall project and company
- Track and analyze data to reduce gaps between estimates and actual costs.
- Obtain and track subcontract bids and negotiate budgets.
- Prepare and present estimate documentation, including gaps in available data.
- Prepares estimates according to the requirements of multiple delivery systems. Reviews quotes and estimates with the project management team
- Assists with certain post-bid buyouts.
- Initiates and participates in meet and greet presentations with subcontractors and suppliers.

The Successful Applicant
The Senior Estimator will have:
- 7+ years of construction estimating experience is ideal
- Design/Build Experience preferred
- Conceptual estimating
- Light Industrial or Commercial project experience
- Great understanding of construction law and accepted business practices
- Having excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
- Bachelors (preferred) in construction management and or engineering
- Diverse project experience in construction
- Familiar with several types of construction software and having open mind about learning new software
- Someone looking for long-term future in Dayton commercial construction
- Has strong teamwork skills
- Prepare work to be estimated - gather proposals, blueprints, specifications and other related documents
- Identify labor, materials and time requirements for projects
- Attend bid meetings, owner meetings and other meetings with stakeholders
- Works directly with Chief Estimator to generate estimates for small and large projects.
- Communicate and interact with sub-contractors and component suppliers such as concrete, steel, joist, precast and masonry
