Job Description

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for:

• Managing all documentation to ensure the project is compliant, remains on schedule, and remains within budget while monitoring all costs.
• Obtaining, assembling, distributing, and filling all as-built drawings, warranties, certificates of occupancy, and lien releases.
• Scheduling projects in logical steps and budgeting time required to meet deadlines.
• Building and maintaining relationships critical to the success of the overall project and company
• Track and analyze data to reduce gaps between estimates and actual costs.
• Obtain and track subcontract bids and negotiate budgets.
• Prepare and present estimate documentation, including gaps in available data.
• Prepares estimates according to the requirements of multiple delivery systems. Reviews quotes and estimates with the project management team
• Assists with certain post-bid buyouts.
• Initiates and participates in meet and greet presentations with subcontractors and suppliers.

The Successful Applicant

The Senior Estimator will have:

• 7+ years of construction estimating experience is ideal
• Design/Build Experience preferred
• Conceptual estimating
• Light Industrial or Commercial project experience
• Great understanding of construction law and accepted business practices
• Having excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
• Bachelors (preferred) in construction management and or engineering
• Diverse project experience in construction
• Familiar with several types of construction software and having open mind about learning new software
• Someone looking for long-term future in Dayton commercial construction
• Has strong teamwork skills
• Prepare work to be estimated - gather proposals, blueprints, specifications and other related documents
• Identify labor, materials and time requirements for projects
• Attend bid meetings, owner meetings and other meetings with stakeholders
• Works directly with Chief Estimator to generate estimates for small and large projects.
• Communicate and interact with sub-contractors and component suppliers such as concrete, steel, joist, precast and masonry
