Staff Accountant/General Ledger

This role provides a contract to permanent employment opportunity. This role requires onsite work on Mondays and Thursday.

Responsibilities:

• Precisely record and categorize all financial transactions to maintain the general ledger. Focus areas include cash, fixed assets, pre-paid, and lease.
• Work closely with various departments such as Legal, Finance, and Strategy to ensure the prompt exchange and accuracy of financial data.
• Aid in the precise and timely creation of financial reports and statements for month-end and year-end closing.
• Follow internal control procedures, company policies, and accounting regulations to maintain compliance.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of various regulatory filings and compliance reports including tax returns and government surveys.
• Assess and enhance accounting processes and procedures regularly, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.
• Keep accurate records of all financial transactions along with supporting schedules and reconciliations.
• Show initiative in resolving any issues related to the exchange of financial information between departments.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial services industry as a Staff Accountant or similar role
• Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Ability to prepare and maintain Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software
• Knowledge and experience in using Oracle financial systems
