We are inviting applications for a short term contract employment opportunity as a Nursing Unit Manager in our assisted living facility located in Jamaica, New York. The role involves providing administrative support within our healthcare team, maintaining medical records, and ensuring smooth operation of our nursing unit.

• Provide clerical support to the health care team, ensuring efficient operation of the nursing unit.
• Prepare and maintain medical records and identifying information for new admissions and readmissions, ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient information.
• Prepare and file all resident/patient reports, ensuring all necessary documentation is readily available and organized.
• Keep medical records neat and regularly updated, adhering to the policy of the facility.
• Prepare monthly NAARS and as needed for new/readmissions, ensuring all necessary reports are prepared in a timely manner.
• Answer inbound calls, providing prompt and accurate information to callers.
• Use EMR (Electronic Medical Records) to input and retrieve patient information.
• Operate fax and scanning equipment to send and receive necessary documents.
• Display excellent multitasking abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Utilize organizational skills to manage administrative tasks and ensure smooth operation of the nursing unit. • Must hold a valid nursing license
• Proven experience as a Nursing Unit Manager or similar managerial role in healthcare
• Proficient in using EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
• Strong ability to answer inbound calls in a professional and courteous manner
• Experience with office equipment such as fax machines and scanners
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle and resolve conflicts effectively
• Must be able to work under pressure and respond to emergencies swiftly
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems in complex and sensitive situations
• Strong team building and motivational skills.
