Role Summary:

Urban Outfitters is looking for a Creative Merchandising Manager to focus on and manage the flow of the product within Men’s Apparel, Shoes and Accessories from the buy to the activation to launch of marketing campaigns to support Retail and Direct product initiatives.

The Creative Merchandising Manager will work closely with the Buying teams to ensure the correct and relevant product is used for messages every season and every month. This includes cross checking inventory, investments and delivery dates as well as sample organization.

Additionally, the Assistant will attend buy strategy and concept meetings to understand trends and the overall intent behind the product assortment.

The Creative Merchandising Manager creates seasonal product showcases which sets the stage for product priorities across Retail and Direct. This includes gathering and organizing samples, outfitting mannequins to reflect key item styling and merchandising products together to create cohesive shops that will come to life in stores and online.

This position requires strong collaborative, communication, organizational and time management skills. The Creative Merchandising Manager needs to multi-task, problem-solve and be pro-active.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Build positive working relationships and facilitate collaboration with frequent and open communication with cross functional partners
  • Sample organization and product info tracking
  • Set up product presentations, dress mannequins and organize sample racks for seasonal showcases and monthly marketing passes
  • Track and build knowledge of the seasonal product assortments to ensure most important items are featured in product messages for Retail and Direct
  • Attend weekly business meetings and find opportunities for reactionary messaging to support business needs
  • Keep clean and organized files and systems while also looking for opportunities for efficiencies and more collaborative ways of working
  • Assist in building presentations by pulling imagery and providing product information
  • Review weekly and monthly digital assets to ensure product priorities are represented

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Buying knowledge and styling experience is a plus
