We are seeking a professional and efficient Medical Receptionist to join our team in Long Beach. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the medical office.

Exceptional multitasking skills, a strong customer service mindset, and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role. Prior experience in a similar position at a doctor’s office is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors with a welcoming and professional demeanor, providing an excellent first impression.
  • Answer a high volume of phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage inquiries with accuracy and courtesy.
  • Verify patient information, including insurance details, and ensure accurate data entry into the electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to manage patient flow and maintain an organized schedule.
  • Process payments, set up billing information, and provide general administrative support as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient information.
  • Assist in resolving patient concerns or questions promptly and professionally.
  • Execute clerical duties such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is a plus. Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical records (e.g., Cerner, Epic) is highly valued
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities — able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with patients, staff, and third parties.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and EMR systems is preferred.
