Overview:
OCTA's Summer College Intern Program is a ten-week paid student/intern program. You will gain real world work experience on meaningful projects under the guidance of transportation professional. You will have the opportunity to use problem solving, communication and decision-making skills as you gain valuable work experience.
As a Summer College Intern, you will be exposed to OCTA's career opportunities in the transportation industry. You will gain deeper awareness of transportation's many facets through your OCTA orientation, projects and teams, and internal networking.
Under direct supervision, students will perform a variety of professional, entry-level duties to obtain practical experience related to their major field of study and interest, and the sponsoring department's current business operations within OCTA and the Transportation Industry.Employment will be full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, for the duration of the ten-week program.
An internship in the Marketing department with a focus on Digital Marketing offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media strategy and content development, email marketing, analytics, and online advertising. Whether you are a Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or another applicable major, if you have strong analytical skills, creativity, and a passion for digital trends, this is a great internship.Interns are given real-time, entry-level responsibilities that adequately prepare them for the world of work.
The pay range is from $19.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on your education level. This position is not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities:
This list is intended to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification and is not designed to be interpreted as an exhaustive listing of all tasks required of employees assigned to this job.- Support the Marketing Department with various projects relating to social media, video, and email marketing, digital advertising, campaign planning, and similar areas.
- Collaborate in the development of creative briefs and content planning for digital channels.
- Create content for OCTA’s social media accounts (Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube), which may include strategizing, writing, producing, and scheduling posts that support agency goals.
- Participate in capturing video content, editing, and publishing reels and shorts, leveraging social media trends where appropriate.
- Analyze and share emerging social media trends and practices to uncover new engagement opportunities in the transit and travel space.
- Develop and edit email and blog content as needed, which may include copywriting for stakeholder and consumer newsletters.
- Analyze performance of digital marketing activities and identify opportunities to enhance communications.
- Support the digital marketing team with campaigns and initiatives.

Qualifications:
Requirements to qualify for the Summer College Intern Program are as follows:
- College students must be enrolled full-time in a two or four-year college program, at an accredited college or university, and follow a course of study leading to an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Students that graduate with their bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in the fall of 2024 or the spring of 2025, are eligible.
- College students enrolled full-time and pursuing a master’s degree from an accredited college.
Desirable degree program for this assignment is Marketing, Communications, or related discipline.
Special Qualifications:
- College students pursuing a course of study leading to an undergraduate degree must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or better.
- College students pursuing a course of study leading to a graduate degree must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Must submit most recent college transcript.
