Inventory and Purchasing Specialist

As the Inventory and Purchasing Specialist with Allied Technical Services, you will be responsible for overseeing inventory levels, source materials, monitor company assets, and ensuring timely procurement of supplies. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient operations by guaranteeing the availability of necessary materials, tracking equipment maintenance, and managing warranty claims.
Additional responsibilities include:
Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, pricing, and delivery reliability.
Track and verify incoming shipments at corporate office warehouse.
Ensure accuracy with purchase orders. Interface with all locations and provide training for some.
Coordinate with operations and project managers to procure non-inventory items.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory transactions, and vendor agreements within the ERP System.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest process improvements.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding procurement.
Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Maintain records of company equipment and assets, including service history and scheduled maintenance.
Submit and track warranty claims with manufacturers and ensure timely repairs or replacements.
Enter vouchers into the accounting system for Accounts Payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment to vendors.
Prepare accurate quotes for repair jobs.
Generate and send invoices to customers for repairs and sales performed by the company.
Regularly update and maintain pump service reports, ensuring all service activities are accurately documented.
Handle the processing of UPS shipments, as needed.
You must have strong analytical thinking and excellent time management skills to take ownership of all the core responsibilities of the position. You will also need to be an excellent multi-tasker with an outstanding attention to detail. Other requirements for this position include:
A high school diploma or GED is required.Experience in inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain.
Understanding of budgeting, cost control principles, and vendor management.
Leverage ERP to perform responsibilities.
Shipping outboard freight including packages - LTL - Inbound.
Experience working in parts/inventory/warehouse environment is preferred.
Experience in pumps and wastewater equipment is a plus.
Experience in inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Forklift experience or willingness to be trained.
Extreme conditions/lifting.
Some minimal travel, including overnight, may be required.
