Civil Estimator

Quality Enterprises is looking for a Civil Estimator to join our team. Under the direction of the Chief Estimator, the Civil Estimator’s primary responsibility is to analyze and interpret project information in the assembly of budgets, bids, and proposals.

- Essential Functions:
- Evaluate proposals, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents to understand the project as a whole.
- Work closely with the construction project manager to oversee and coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits.
- Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and product costs to determine overall cost for construction projects.
- Produce written proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and updates for clients and project managers.
- Provide accurate takeoff information with a detailed list of materials and total construction costs.
- Solicit subcontractor, vendor, and equipment supplier information and pricing.
- Review and estimate change orders and other cost impacts.
- Follow up with clients on submitted proposals and budgets.

- Detail-oriented with the ability to focus on quality and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education, Experience, Licenses, & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, accounting, construction management, or related field.
- At least 2 years of civil estimating experience or 5 years of civil construction field experience.
- Thorough knowledge of construction practices and procedures.
- Experience with utilities, storm piping, and FDOT specifications.
- Understanding of risk analysis and estimation metrics.
- Proficient in estimating software, such as HCSS, Bid2Win, or similar.
- Proficient in O365 and Adobe Acrobat.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Prolonged periods sitting at desk and working on a computer.
