Operations and Events Specialist
Overview:
Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for an Operations and Events Specialist in the New York office.
Orrick is seeking a dedicated Operations & Events Specialist for our New York office. This role is primarily focused on managing and enhancing our day-to-day conference catering operations, with an additional focus on office related event planning and execution.This is a 100% onsite position, supporting a vibrant office of over 300 lawyers and team members.
What Will I Do? You will focus on the following responsiblities:
Responsibilities:
Conference Catering Operations:
- Lead and manage conference catering operations, ensuring high-quality and creative catering options for internal meetings and office events.
- Work across Orrick offices to help establish standardized operating procedures and best practices.
- Maintain a portfolio of preferred catering partners to provide food service to the office.
- Use expert level catering knowledge and negotiating skills to command best pricing for firm.
- Collaborate with the food services team to maintain and improve food service areas, including coffee and soda machines, microwaves, refrigerators, and vending machines.
- Partner with leased service providers for pantry and food services, coordinating onsite work as needed.
- Maintain records regarding vendors and purchasing and manage invoicing for all food vendors.
- Oversee processing of catering and related food/beverage invoices, ensuring proper client/matter codes are provided.
Event Planning:
- Support internal and client-facing events, focusing on developing menus, sourcing vendors, logistical planning and coordination.
- Work with the Director of Administration and Events Team to plan creative office events.
- Schedule space and resources for events, collaborating with IT for necessary equipment.
- Collaborate with event organizers and manage event-related costs.
- Working with the office administration, the events team and other stakeholders, establish and maintain Orrick brand standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate hospitality management, office operations and event planning.
- Strong collaboration and negotiation skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated planning and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Compensation and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is between $74,000 - $93,000.
Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick’s estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future.The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
