Associate Manager, Private Brands Commercialization

Overview:

Associate Manager, Private Brands Commercialization will assist and support the Sr. Manager, Private Brands Commercialization, throughout product development and the existing portfolio lifecycle of branded products that promote customer satisfaction and positively impact the financial performance of the enterprise and Private Brands.

The Associate Manager, Private Brands Commercialization is responsible for ensuring the completion and the Vitamin Shoppe portfolio of Private Brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vendor Management to improve Quality, Reduce Costs, and Drive Manufacturing Efficiency leading to higher in stocks by:
  • Working with vendors to improve production efficiencies and capabilities from raw material sourcing through finished goods.
  • Review formulations to improve quality, manufacturing efficiency and improved costs.
  • Address and resolve issues that occur throughout production including raw material shortages, packaging supply constraints, and formula challenges.
  • Support the end-to-end initial commercialization process for all skus with vendors including flavoring, scale ups, and finished goods production runs.
  • Ensure all stage gates are completed accurately and on time, based on established target timelines for new item launches and existing portfolio projects.
  • Facilitate and hold accountable multi-team internal and external collaboration to successfully execute day-to-day operations as well as complex strategic projects.
  • Maintain internal tracking data sets to measure the success and timing of each new launch.
  • Support and/or participate in additional projects with cross functional teams including Supply Chain, Quality, Wholesale, and Operations.
  • Assist the assortment rationalization standard operating process directly with vendors to mitigate liabilities and facilitate timely execution.
  • Assist and participate in Business Reviews on a Quarterly or Semi-Annual basis dependent on vendor portfolio size.

Other Functions:

  • Supports strategic organizational objectives and initiatives as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Future potential to direct, guide, and evaluate additional staff members.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science related field preferred or equivalent combination of intellectual instruction and work experience.

Required Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of Dietary Supplement and/or Food formulation, product development, and product commercialization process
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for compliance with FDA GMP and Quality Systems (ISO 17025 a plus)
  • Familiarity and ability to apply/comply with common product Certification programs such as Organic, Non-GMO, NSF, DSHEA, and others as needed
  • Project Management Principles and Stage Gate Process Applications

Experience required:

  • 3 years plus in dietary supplements, food, ingestible OTC, or related consumer goods industry. Experience within Contract Manufacturing a plus.
  • Applying and making data driven decisions involving laboratory analysis of vitamins, minerals, botanicals, and other supplement ingredients
  • High ability and comfort level working in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Ability to bring process and organization to complex scenarios
  • Proficient in MS Office Tools and adaptability to other cloud based platforms
  • Achievement mindset, creative, agile, solution-focused, bias for action
