The Opportunity

The Business Analyst is a self-starting role that will support a portfolio of change management initiatives across the various business units within the organization. As the link between business functions and IT, these individuals will be accountable for evaluating and understanding existing processes to provide solutions that ensure realization of business value.

Key Responsibilities of this position include:

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for key transformation projects and processes,.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Facilitating workshops and meetings to elicit requirements, validate solutions, and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Experience with creating preserving work products and artifacts
  • Understand a core system in the value chain (e.g. Duck Creek, D365)
Process Improvement & Optimization
  • Analyze current processes, and identify inefficiencies, and assist in developing recommendations for process re-engineering opportunities.
  • Develop simple process documentation, including process maps and supporting documentation.
  • Gather and document the costs and benefits of implementing an opportunity
Change Management & Training
  • Understand and support change management strategies to facilitate the successful adoption of new processes and technologies. Assist in developing training materials and support resources for end-users.
Project Management
  • Contribute to multiple projects concurrently as assigned, Escalate issues and risks as appropriate.

Job Requirements:

  • Typically, 3+ years of experience in business analysis, project management, or similar role within the insurance, financial services, or other related industries
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present or lead discussions with various stakeholders.
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality work products and output, demonstrating a meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and excellence.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and experience working within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Agile project management tools such as Azure Dev Ops or Jira.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess risks and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools
  • Proven ability to contribute to multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, while consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of performance.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies
  • Experience with an insurance-specific software, such as policy, billing, and claims systems
  • Negotiation skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders and third-party vendors.
  • Experience with data governance principles.

The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including NYC. The salary range posted below applies to the Company’s NYC location.

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $76,400 - $112,000 plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).

The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position in NYC. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
