A national law firm with offices in New York, California and New Jersey seeks a labor and employment associate. Candidate must possess a JD from an accredited law school, and be admitted to practice in New York. Excellent legal writing and communications skills are a must, however, and candidates with civil litigation experience and legal project management are preferred.

The firm’s Labor and Employment team is comprised of former big-law attorneys with over 60 years of combined experience advising and representing management in labor and/or employment law matters. Their clients, both for-profit and non-profit, span a variety of industries, including colleges, insurers, technology companies and staffing/logistics firms.
Their team handles virtually all matters relating to labor or employment law and begins with advising the clients’ CEOs, CFOs, COO’s, GCs, and HR staff on how to comply with the obligations imposed by the myriad federal, state and local labor and employment laws/regulations.
The firm’s attorneys have investigated and handled hundreds of employment discrimination charges and complaints before various federal, state and city agencies and litigated those matters in federal and state courts throughout the Tri-State area (and beyond).
Their attorneys have successfully tried, before both juries and judges, a number of employment and labor law cases in state and federal court, as well as in private arbitrations and before the NYS Division of Human Rights and the NYC Human Rights Commission (through OATH).

They have also successfully defended multiple class actions and FLSA or ADEA collective actions.

The firm is seeking an associate with multiple years of employment law experience, ideally both in and out of the courtroom, with a demonstrated interest in the field. Indeed, the position promises significant client exposure and immediate direct experience to all aspects of the discipline, and presents a rare opportunity to practice employment law on both plaintiff and defense sides.

The firm offers health and dental insurance, a flexible hybrid schedule, 401k benefits, and origination credit where applicable. • Must hold a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  • Possession of a valid license to practice law in the state
  • At least 1 year of professional experience as an Attorney or Lawyer
  • Must demonstrate expertise in Employment Law and Labor Law
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases with varying deadlines
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold legal ethical standards
  • Must exhibit attention to detail and precision in work
  • Willingness to continue learning and improving legal skills.
