Responsibilities:
The Homefinder will develop, coordinate and facilitate recruitment for foster parents and respite providers. Certify, train, assess, and support foster parents. Serve as a source of information and assist foster families and caseworkers in meeting treatment and planning goals.Secure, assess, maintain and process all documentation in a timely manner. Maintain accurate and timely statistical records and files. Insure that foster parents and the program are adhering to pertinent regulations and achieving the established goals.
Network in the community and work with other Toomey Residential and Community Services staff to improve the quality and results of the program. Serve effectively as a program liaison with other agencies while serving on numerous committees. Maintain guidelines and policies as established by the funding sources and Toomey Residential and Community Services.
Represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor degree and up to three years of experience with youth, and families is required. Experience with foster care youth and diverse populations, and administrative experience preferred.- Must be 21 years old.
- Possess a valid NYS driver's license with 4 points or less.
- Use of personal vehicle required.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- NYS background checks required.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, negotiation skills, interpersonal/written communication skills, and creative problem solving skills.
