Observational Systems Simulation Experiments (OSSEs) Subject Matter Expert

Responsibilities:
- Advise the Lynker business development team in observational systems simulation experiments (OSSEs) solutioning for various predictive earth systems science models, including satellite-based models.
- Assist with overall proposal review and technical writing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ph. D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Meteorology, Remote Sensing, or related field.
- Minimum of 15+ years related work experience
- At least 15+ years' experience working with satellite remote sensing datasets
- At least 15+ years' experience working with numerical weather prediction
- Knowledge of radiative transfer concepts
- Knowledge of satellite data assimilation techniques
- Knowledge of common satellite data and numerical model formats
- Experience with severe weather dynamics and forecasting
- Experience performing Observing System Simulation Experiments (OSSE), Observing System Experiments (OSE), and studies of data assimilation activities
