As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, Lynker is seeking a part-time Subject Matter Expert for Observational Systems Simulation Experiments (OSSEs).

Responsibilities:

  • Advise the Lynker business development team in observational systems simulation experiments (OSSEs) solutioning for various predictive earth systems science models, including satellite-based models.
  • Assist with overall proposal review and technical writing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ph. D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Meteorology, Remote Sensing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15+ years related work experience
  • At least 15+ years' experience working with satellite remote sensing datasets
  • At least 15+ years' experience working with numerical weather prediction
  • Knowledge of radiative transfer concepts
  • Knowledge of satellite data assimilation techniques
  • Knowledge of common satellite data and numerical model formats
  • Experience with severe weather dynamics and forecasting
  • Experience performing Observing System Simulation Experiments (OSSE), Observing System Experiments (OSE), and studies of data assimilation activities
