Director, Sterilization & Materials Management

Position Summary:
Oversee strategic planning and interface with senior administration and Deans regarding purchasing, storage, assembly, distribution, decontamination, cleaning, sterilization and distribution of medical, dental, surgical and related instrumentation and equipment utilized.

Oversee operations for clinical instrument sterilization and distribution system. Lead all of the clinical purchasing activities for the College. Develop and oversee budgets required to support both operations and inventory.

Qualifications:

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education: Master's Degree

Required Experience:

7+ years health care administration experience in a high volume clinic, hospital or health care facility or an equivalent combination. Must include experience in directing compliance activities, inventory management of dental materials/equipment, developing and managing a large budget, supervising staff.

Preferred Experience:

10+ years relevant experience including oversight of multi-million dollar budget, dental equipment and supplies sales, and service to large institutional users.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Current certification for Central Service by an accredited agency i.e., Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution (CBSPD).

In-depth knowledge of dentistry standards, dental supplies, materials, equipment, and laboratory services. Advanced knowledge of infection control protocols, Article 28 and OSHA regulations. Communication and building skills to negotiate acceptable materials, supplies and equipment used in education and patient care including vendor pricing and service.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
In depth knowledge of NYS Department of Health regulations. Familiarity with automated health management systems and team approach training programs. Inventory management skills and budgetary applications using access, excel or other technology to record and account for activity.

Certification in Healthcare Leadership (CHL).

Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $120,000.00 to USD $160,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
