Our client in the Bethlehem, PA area is looking for a Controller for a contract role. As the Controller you will be responsible for the accounting, audit, tax, and financial compliances of the company. he ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in manufacturing finance, preferably within the pharmaceutical or life-science industries.Proficiency in SAP, advanced Excel skills, and a solid understanding of GAAP are essential for this role.
Responsibilities of Controller- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Manage the financial reporting process, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed financial analysis and recommendations.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions.
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Account, finance, or related. MBA desirable. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- 8+ years of manufacturing finance experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or life-science company, with at least three years in a business partner role
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical industry-specific financial regulations, cost accounting, and R& D project accounting.
- Proficiency with SAP is a must(proficient in FICO, SD, MM, and PP modules in SAP)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Experience with pharmaceutical R& D and manufacturing operations is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
