Job Description:

At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a talented Senior EHS Specialist to join our Mid-Atlantic team.

Position Responsibilities
  • Assists construction project teams by supporting subcontractor qualifications, Safety Plan development, Safety plan implementation, project compliance inspections, and project EHS regulatory guidance.
  • Researches regulations and assists with construction site EHS compliance.
  • Visits IPS work sites to assist in EHS compliance.
  • Performs EHS compliance audits and inspections at IPS project sites.
  • Records and report audit reports and assist with the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Provide on-site EHS support for projects that require continuous oversight.
  • Reviews and evaluates daily Job Safety Analysis developed by subcontractors.
  • Assists with Safety metrics recording and reporting.
  • Plans and attends meetings as requested and supports EHS department administrative functions.
  • Demonstrates and advocates for safety and SOP requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical/vocational training preferably in Construction Safety or Engineering or a related field.
  • 5- 10 years of construction safety experience with some pharmaceutical background in a senior capacity.
  • Knowledge and experience with construction safety topics such as – Fall Protection, Trenching, and Shoring, Crane Lifts, Steel Erection, Hot Work, Confined Space, Emergency Plans, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in pharmaceutical Design/Build/Validate processes.
Context, Environment, & Safety
  • May involve travel to project locations for several days to several weeks.
  • Exemplify safety values, policies, and procedures that all IPS employees are expected to follow.
