New York - Intake Specialist - Worker's Compensation
The Intake Specialist meets with new or prospective clients, asks a series of questions for the purpose of compiling data, and then uses this data to determine the best next course of action for that client.
Processes paperwork for new clients efficiently and in accordance with protocols. Obtains pertinent information from new clients during the interviews process being courteous and professional at all times. Answers and screens inquiry calls and emails from prospective clients, & ensures that all forms are properly signed and filed.
Communicates with other team members constructively in order to reduce conflict and enhance the resolution of issues. Respects client or patient dignity and confidentiality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gathers detailed, fact-specific information about potential client cases and helping injured people get the legal help they need.
- Answers and screening inquiry calls from existing and prospective clients.
- Collects data for intake process & ensuring all information is documented correctly.
- Manages scheduling of appointments/consultations with existing and potential clients.
- Ensures that all forms have the correct information and are filled out properly.
- Communicates with team members, attorneys, and management.
- Communicates with, injured workers, doctors, attorneys, claims adjusters, and other insurance personnel
- Must be detailed with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and high sense of urgency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Prior success and experience operating in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, management and peers.
- Strong interpersonal and customer-service related skills.
- An interest in multi-line claims training a plus.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bilingual Spanish Speaking preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service at all times.
- Possess the ability to prioritize and monitor workflow.
- Able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of computers, telephones, copiers, and fax machines.
- Proficient in software’s such as Microsoft Office and Pro-Law.
PREFERENCES:
- Associates Degree preferred or at least 1 years of Worker’s Compensation work experience.
- Previous law firm experience.
