Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant in the Engineering industry, based in Shoreview, Minnesota. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. The Staff Accountant will be instrumental in maintaining financial accuracy, managing general ledger, and supporting audits.

Responsibilities:
- Manage general ledger to ensure financial accuracy
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes
- Provide audit support to ensure compliance
- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) effectively
- Carry out bank reconciliations regularly
- Prepare and post journal entries as required
- Manage month-end close activities
- Handle sales tax related matters efficiently
- Ensure audit compliance to meet global standards
- Carry out year-end closings effectively.
- Please note that all candidates are required to provide 2 recent supervisor or manager references in order to be considered for employment.
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
- Familiarity with General Ledger management
- Ability to make accurate Journal Entries
- Knowledge of Month End Close procedures
- Experience with Sales Tax calculations and processes
- Understanding of Audit and Audit Compliance procedures
- Experience in Year End Closings
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
