The Environmental Services Technician level I isresponsible for executing the daily dutiesrequired to establish and maintain a safe, clean, healing environment. Responsible for ensuring daily room cleaning and timely room turnaround times related to patient throughput
within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The Environmental Services Technician, in accordance withorganizationalstandards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and customer experience.
Essential Functions- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, using appropriate designated engagement techniques.
- Responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms and ancillary areas, to include, but notlimited to, bathrooms, public
appropriate chemicals and cleaning procedures.
- Must have good working knowledge and be capable of accessing and using all department related technology systems, such as but
- Replenishes supplies as needed, remove bio-medical waste, trash and soiled linen as required daily and changes cubicle/window
- Completes patient room and bathroom cleaning daily to accommodate discharges/admissions and overall cleanliness standards
- Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge ofthe health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements,
which tasked with servicing.
- Adheres to all organization safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of
- Operates UV disinfection machine as needed.
- Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including but not limited to initiatives to,
- Follows all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene,
- Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA)
- Reports unsafe situations and turnsin Engineering Service Requestsforrepair.
- Ability to communicate, read, and write in standard English asthisisthe main businesslanguage.
