Systems Engineer

This role presents a contract-to-hire job opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Lead IT modernization initiatives, including upgrading, installing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft systems with automation technologies like Kubernetes and Azure.
• Work in close partnership with the IT team and the managed Security Operations Center to strengthen the company's security framework and incident response capabilities.
• Perform systematic audits to detect potential vulnerabilities and areas for enhancement, and devise effective remediation plans.
• Keep informed of the latest developments in IT and security to ensure our systems and methodologies are current.
• Produce routine reports detailing the IT environment's status for the management team.
• Engage in technical research and development to foster ongoing innovation within the infrastructure.
• Aid in predicting and managing the growth of server technologies, and in orchestrating client/server disaster recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot technical problems, and carry out regular tasks like monitoring, server administration, active directory management, software deployment, and imaging.
• Handle configuration and management duties in both cloud and on-premises settings.
• Keep accurate records of configurations, operational procedures, and service logs related to infrastructure and software.
• Resolve issues related to Windows networks, storage, applications, and hyper-converged infrastructures.
• Proficiency in Active Directory
• Experienced with Kubernetes
• Knowledgeable about Azure Stack
• Familiar with Microsoft Azure
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting
• Demonstrated experience as a Systems Engineer
• Understanding of system security and data backup/recovery
• Acquainted with various operating systems and platforms.
