CMA/RMA - CWP Ortho/Sports Med
Overview: The Certified Medical Assistant assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families.
Responsibilities:Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
Maintain patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Telephone Interactions: As directed, completing necessary telephone communications with patients, families, pharmacies, and/or other health care facilities. Gathering information and maintaining patient information via telephone per department specific processes and policies.
Follows appropriate dress code presenting a professional image.Expected to be a positive and responsible team member with a good attitude.
Fosters a culture of outstanding patient service showing courtesy in interactions with patients, physicians, and co-workers.
Provide patient with written instructions regarding procedures, medications, or follow up instructions at the direction of the provider.
Provide assistance with prescription medication refills per department protocols. Notify patients of refills and documents actions within the EMR per provider orders.
Brings patient care issues to physician's attention. Assists during clinic by submitting therapy/MRI orders, work notes, medications, etc. Returns patient phone calls within one business day. Manages physicians schedule for clinic and surgery. Assist in minor procedures that may put CM in contact with blood borne pathogens.
Qualifications:License/Certifications: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (AAH)
- American Allied Health (AAH); Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (AMT)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT); Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP); Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- National Healthcareer Association (NHA); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days
- American Heart Association (AHA); Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (ARMA)
- American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
Education: H.S. Diploma/GED
