Patient Advocate Representative

Preferred candidates should have 1-2 years of experience working with governmental programs and be familiar with basic medical terminology. Must be able to work in the Kansas City, MO area. Competitive pay and benefits. Bilingual preferred, but not required.

Job Duties:

• Adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations with regards to HIPAA compliance.
• Conduct home/field visits as required
• Advocate for Patient for government services.
• Work with external government agencies
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively collaborate and provide excellent customer service with patients, hospital staff, agency workers, management, and co-workers.
• Must be self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable.

Additional desired qualifications (not required) include:

• Prior Medicaid experience
• Prior experience in a medical office or hospital setting
• Prior Insurance Verification experience
• Prior experience working with hospital systems (i.e. EPIC, Cerner, Citrix)

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED. (Some college preferred)
• Prior hospital experience 1+ years.
• Experience working State and Federal programs.
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
• Must have reliable transportation and provide proof of insurance.
• Pass background check & drug screening.
• Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years customer service experience, preferably in healthcare setting or similar industry.
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
• Basic knowledge and use of office equipment such as: phone, fax, computer, and email.
• Type minimum of 30 wpm
